Tropicana Alters Logo for Campaign
One day as I was in my local deli, I noticed something different. I went in to purchase a breakfast sandwich, and I decided to grab a bottle of orange juice. As I walked to the counter to place my item down I discovered that there was a recent change to the logo on the bottle. In previous articles we’ve covered logo evolution using examples from brands such as Starbucks. In that article you will notice that we analyze the timeline and reasoning behind the changes of the design from past to present. Usually there is a time limit of change within the morphing of the logo from where it originated to where it stands in the present moment. Branding is very important, and your logo helps solidify your product or service with its visual appeal. However, I noticed a giant leap in the visual aspect of the Tropicana logo on this particular bottle of orange juice that morning. … Continue Reading

So what does this mean for you? … Continue Reading

The Olympic Games 2012 and Social media Influence
By now you’ve probably recognized the relevant connection between the popularity of events regarding social media and the Olympic Games 2012. So relevant, that this year alone the amount of tweets, trending topics, Facebook posts, Tumblr posts, and Pinterest posts (I could continue, but the list is endless) have generated awareness between the viewer and network television stations that air the events. I have stumbled upon many conversations this year that identify the relevance of trends online drawing people in, and getting them involved in discussions related to the Olympics. … Continue Reading

In today’s society we are constantly surrounded by images, logos, and design that all drive back to each company’s particular brand. The topic of this article asks: “What does your logo say about your business/brand?” In previous articles, such as Intro Branding Series: What’s Your Meme? and Content vs. Images (Branding Series Part 2), we discuss brand logos and the initial process of developing specific aspects to represent your company’s brand. Service and reputation are key in the development process when finalizing your logo, but not too many people uncover the creative process regarding redesigning your logo. Both are very important, and many consumers/clients tend to accept these changes when they are subtle.
Gradually working a logo into a transformation to the final result is something that brands do frequently (refer to our previous article Hidden Messages and New Starbucks Logo), but the main concern is why you want to alter the look and which direction you want to take to reformat it. … Continue Reading

With any and everything both marketing and social media related, we are constantly faced with non-stop updates. Whether it is the SEO platform you’re using or the hosting site for your company’s blog, we are always dealing with: Updates. I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who works in the marketing industry, and she stated “Ugh, all of these updates and notifications are constantly popping up in my inbox at work! I just ignore them”. I then replied, “Big Mistake”. Why did I say this to her? … Continue Reading

It doesn’t matter how many times this logo has been imitated and copied; everyone knows this pop icon of the century comes from the greatest city in the world, New York! The “I HEART NY” logo was designed by Milton Glasser for the New York State Tourist Department in 1977, and the love quickly became one of the best marketing campaigns of all time. Glasser expected the original campaign to go on for a only a few months and created “I Heart NY” pro bono, however, one key rule to making a great logo is longevity and this one has surely stood the test of time, but are we ready for a change? … Continue Reading
