Staying Socially Grounded

Stay Consistent Via Social Media

When it comes to social media presence it is very important to stay grounded and connected to your target audiences/followers. Whether it be a blog site, facebook, or twitter account it is very important to maintain that connection between those who are associated with your brand as well as your current and potential customers. We have stressed this time and time again, but recently after completing a trend search regarding small businesses I noticed that many accounts were receiving negative feedback related to their response frequency. It’s always good to do a trend search regarding your industry (complete one often if you can), because it provides you with the ability to stay updated on what you should be focusing on. Even if you are the CEO of a very successful company, it is crucial that you sustain loyalty with your clients. I know what you’re thinking I do this already, and if you do that’s great! The point I am trying to make is that consistency is key in regards to engagement.

We all know that social media and social networking is all about conversation and communication, but periodic responses only draw a negative perception to your brand. If you can download a mobile application to increase the updates and responses to your customers on your network, by all means please do! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run across disgruntled clients who are upset with the infrequent rate of customer service responses they have yet to receive from the social networking accounts of businesses (large and small). We are not trying to be forceful when we say that consistent content shows that you care. ‘Tis the Truth as we like to say (no pun intended).

Now that we have identified this, sit back and analyze your own accounts. Perhaps you update your facebook posts/statuses more than your pinterest or twitter account. Even if you need a day to play “catch up”, take the time but remember to acknowledge your delay in responding so that your customer knows that your company cares. Simply put, reminders are always good to alert you of the moments that you should update and respond to your followers/fans. Notifications may be frequent, but you will always have something to refer to. What would you prefer: Constant Interaction or No Action At All?
